Dear Someone So Near yet So Far,
A candle and a book are all I have now,
And of course a few thousand thoughts you hammered into me.
Should I take a bow,
For you played a game I never thought could be.
Maps I drew were not that of a country,
Nor was I trying to connect the dots, to an arbitrary treasure bounty.
It was all so that you with your shaken conscience and trembling soul,
Find the way to your destiny, your path to me, your goal.
But I have always loved you,
So whence you reciprocated, I was wrong to assume.
Devil had bitten you, somberness emanated from your dirty blood,
And you thought I backed off, tho'my force matched that of a flood.
As I rest for a moment to catch the glimpse of that vanishing dream,
Hoping that one day you shall read what I etched staying up, burning night lamp,
It's getting darker, but do dreams care for the red, yellow, blue or the green.
Yours,
you know what, yes you
